2024 End of Spring Rec Season

It’s been a great season for Our Rec Leagues.  We avoided being rained out this year, fielded almost 1000 children of all ages, and had a wonderful time at our End of Season Jamboree.

To each and every one of you –  MAY WE SEE YOU IN FALL!

This season was a wonderful time of laughter and games, and every child walked away with more skills.  From Game 1 through our last game this weekend, I’ve had the amazing opportunity to watch our kids grow and learn, all under the “play based learning” NYSL has adopted.  I’ll never forget the sight of 300 children gathered in one park laughing and playing with each other that first morning.

To all the coaches who volunteered – many, many thanks.  We couldn’t have done it without each and everyone of you.  You took on a task that required commitment over the last 8 weeks, and each and every one of you followed through.  I hope that you can look back on these weeks with great joy.

Thank you for making a difference in the lives of kids and mentoring the next generation.

Parents – please say thank you to these amazing volunteers!  Without them, we could not do this!

To the parents who showed up every week, on time, with kids in tow (or running in front!), in blankets or under umbrellas, thank you!  You cheered your kids on, you made sure their shoes were tied, and you helped each coach keep kids pointed in the right direction.  Thank you for your help and encouragement.

And lastly – to each player who gave it their all, who laughed every morning, who responded “Okay COACH” with every game or skill, may you all continue to grow and enjoy the game of soccer.  I look forward to seeing what each of you accomplishes.

Congrats to the U12 Winners of our Jamboree Tournament:   Team 203 came in 1st, 204 came in 2nd.

Congrats to Hollis Brookline for sweeping our U15 division.  Next year!!!!
