The Nashua Youth Soccer League (NYSL) is a recreational, non-profit, volunteer organization that teaches basic soccer skills to children between the ages of 5 and 19 years old. It has been serving the Nashua area 40 years!
Referees with a U.S. Soccer Federation referee patch must register as an NYSL referee in order to get game assignments.
NYSL referee registration for the Fall 2017 season is Open (use this link).
Referees need a valid 2017 or 2018 patch to participate as an NYSL referee.
If you have a 2017 U.S. Soccer Federation referee patch, your patch will expire at the end of the year. To participate next spring (2018), you will need to attend an annual training class to get your 2018 patch.
You must be at least 12 years old to become a referee. The steps you need to follow are:
Pass the grade 8 referee class. You will get your patch at the end of the class if you pass the test. For the current list of classes for new referees, click here.
Once you have passed the class and you have your referee patch, register as an NYSL referee using the link above in the registration information section.
Important: NYSL jerseys are yellow and green. Some of the newer jerseys are white. You will not be able to use the Yellow referee uniform because you will blend in with the players. Most NYSL referees wear red or black uniforms.
Game reports are filled out from the game reporting link under Officials Area. You only need to fill out a game report if you had an injury or if you handed out any cards.
If you have any questions that are not covered by the details on the website, you can contact the director of referees using the email
